Children's Data
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 without the consent of a parent or legal guardian. Where a minor participates in a Fit City event, a parent or legal guardian must complete the Guardian Consent section of our Event Waiver & Release, granting consent for the minor's participation, authorising emergency medical treatment, and providing a media release on the minor's behalf. We collect only the limited information necessary to register and safeguard the minor — their name, the guardian's name, relationship, contact details and signature — and process it in line with POPIA. Guardians may request access to, correction of, or deletion of a minor's personal information at any time by contacting our Information Officer. A guardian may withdraw media consent in writing, although withdrawal will not affect media already published before the request was received.
POPIA Compliance
We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Our Information Officer is responsible for ensuring our compliance with POPIA and for handling any requests or complaints relating to your personal information.
